The Course

This 30-day sprint teaches essential Mandarin as it’s spoken in Taiwan, focusing on the words, patterns, and etiquette you’ll actually use. Each day blends bite-size pronunciation drills (tones, pinyin or zhuyin), traditional characters you’ll see on signs, and role-plays for real situations—ordering at night markets, riding the MRT, renting a room, visiting a clinic or pharmacy, and messaging on LINE. You’ll learn core grammar and high-frequency vocabulary, plus local must-knows like 請問, 不好意思, 麻煩你, 內用/外帶, and how to read prices, addresses, and menus. Short quizzes, listening practice with local accents, and printable cheat sheets keep the learning simple and sticky.

By the end, you’ll handle day-to-day life with confidence: buying a SIM, topping up an EasyCard, giving directions to a taxi, explaining allergies, setting appointments, and chatting politely with neighbors, coworkers, and shop staff. You’ll save time and avoid misunderstandings, make friends faster, and explore more comfortably—whether you’re studying, working, or traveling. A final mini-project has you plan a weekend entirely in Mandarin, so you leave the course with practical, repeatable routines you can use the moment you step outside.

What you will learn

I started the course by reverse‑engineering your first month in Taiwan—what you’ll order, ask, read, and hear—and built each day around those exact moments. It’s designed for absolute starters, with bite‑size lessons that swap jargon for clear, friendly explanations and street‑tested phrases you can use right away. I carefully crafted each step with audio drills, simple pronunciation tips, and cultural cues so you sound natural and feel confident, not scripted. The structure is clean and predictable: daily goals, quick-win practice, a tiny review loop, and checklists that keep you moving without overwhelm. From taxis and MRT tickets to cafés, convenience stores, small talk, and appointments, you’ll always know exactly what to say and why it works—organized, practical, and ready for real life.
